About the Session

WHO CAN ATTEND: Ideal for 10th, 11th and 12th grade students.

Do you get caught up worrying about final examinations and results? Do you feel overwhelmed with examination anxiety? Do you hold such high expectations for yourself that your brain freezes up? Do you procrastinate so much that you end up cramming all your studying the night before the exam? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you’re not alone.

Academic stress arises as a student’s response to academic demands that cannot be prevented, avoided or controlled. If ignored, it can bring imbalance to our lives and increase the risk of burnout. This session addresses the impact of academic stress and suggests ways to tackle it, so that students can thrive academically. Specifically, the tools, techniques and healthy study habits that can help students achieve better results while staying composed will be the agenda of the session.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  1. Introductions: The therapist will typically start the session with introductions,  giving everyone a chance to briefly share their name and why they are attending the group.
  2. Group discussion: The majority of the session will likely be dedicated to group discussion.
  3. Support and feedback: Throughout the session, the therapist will encourage members to offer support and feedback to one another. This may involve active listening, offering suggestions or insights, or simply offering encouragement and empathy.
